This book is a must have for biomechanics Graduate students. It looks at biomechanics from an engineering standpoint and technological standpoint, not just a math/physics standpoint. It is much cheaper (used) and just as good as the third edition. The only meaningful thing the third edition does better is describe filters (butterworth, spline, etc.). Some other parts of this book could be better explained, but I like the shortness of it overall. It also has Demster's anthropometric data in it that is the most commonly used for inverse dynamic solutions in biomechanics. Overall a great book and I'd recommend it to any advanced biomechanics student, even over the third edition all things considered.

This book was required for my Chemistry course and my professor told us specifically to get the 12th edition...............which costs over $200. I found the Global Edition for roughly the same price as it was to rent the American edition. Some of the questions are different. So, if your professor gives assignments from the book (mine doesn't), just take a picture of that page in the American version. The text is the same, word for word. The page numbers are about 32 pages off because Roman numerals are not used for the table of contents, introduction, and preface in the global version.Very interesting book, has detailed explanations. Well written.

The same as in 12th edition, Very clean like NEWOnly difference is that in 12th edition, the chapter 6 is the chapter 4 of this book so that's what you will be seeing so always try to go with the title of discussion when in class.The same exercises, notes, everything.THANK YOU SO MUCH Sold by: Atlanta Book Company

Awesome Book!!! First chapter starts with math.... the book is put together beautifully. Tons of modern day pictures and very interesting health knowledge. I had zero chemistry knowledge. And now... I'm well on my way.

I swear I read that this was used, but when I got it, it was still in its original wrapping. So to get this item brand new at this price was SO WORTH IT! The school I go to sells this text book for about $250 and there was no way I was gonna pay that for a brand new stinking book. I found this book for literally half that price, I was so thankful for that <3

Going through the study checks and questions and problems for every chapter has helped me tremendously to keep a high A in my Chem 105 class. I wish there were answers to the even problems as well to check myself.

This is one of the best texts I have ever used. If you are interested in teaching yourself some chemistry this would not be a bad way to go. Explained in an easy to understand method. Lots of examples and illustrations. The subject maters are kept fairly small in order to really promote understanding and allowing you to slowly build your knowledge one piece at a time. Also, the practices at the end of each section will really help you solidify what you have been reading. Great book.

Time of rental is too short, I guess that's a way to get more money from students. Rental time should match school semester. As it is, you have to pay $9.00+ for an extra week.

This is not a comment to the use of the book but rather the service that I received.It is important to know that the kindle book does not come with an access code and I desperately need one for my Chem 100 class. I ended up finding a bundle for $135 on MasteringChemistry.comHowever, since I had opened the kindle edition already in search of an access code, I could not return it.So I sent an e-mail explaining the situation and within 15 MINUTES I had a reply stating that I would receive a refund and that the book would be removed from my kindle library.I cannot even begin to express how happy I am with the service that I've received!

A lively, often funny, account of trying to traverse a great Asian river. Well written, and a fast read.

Amazing book! Most enjoyable reading. We read it as a library borrowing and loved it so much that we wanted to own a copy. We looked everywhere and were so thrilled to find used copies in great condition in Amazon. It took a little longer than we expected but it was well worth the wait.

I did enjoy reading most of this, but found the river a lot less interesting than the dogs featured in the book. I liked the descriptions of the different areas on countries he visited, and the commentary on the political situation/history there.What I didn't like was that some sections seem to talk too much about the difficulty making travel arrangements, which although relevant was pretty dull. You knew all along that he would abandon the dog at the end, but he seemed to find the separation more difficult than the dog did!

only about half the book was based on the journey down the river - I guess there was not so much to see from the side of the boat?the travel arrangements took up too much of this book, so while it was well researched and interesting much of the book was slow going - the dog (or dogs) are more exciting than the author!

Delightful. Going to an English friend with whom I have traveled around SE Asia and India.

It's a great calendar but my husband order this thinking it would have something along the lines of when to grow things but it didn't. It has lovely pictures and I'll use like any other, I'll just had to look up the things he wants to grow and put it on the calendar manually.

The Very first page says "Fitted for Boston and the New England States with special corrections and calculations to answer for all the United States" I would not have purchased. The actual OLD FARMER'S ALMANAC website I understand sells whole versions for the various parts of the U.S. I should have purchased it there. When you purchase your Almanacs at their website, you are asked which part of the U.S. you want... i.e. Western States.There are many great tips and informative facts in this book. The Almanac is great in that way. Other than great detail for Boston and New England, for which this book is geared, there are merely one-page WEATHER sections for the other parts of the U.S.(pages 192 to 208 only), but most of the book is geared for Boston & New England. This book is also like any magazine.... crammed full of advertisements. This book has 288 pages.

I love the Old Farmer's Almanac. It's a goldmine of obscure facts, commonsense oddities, and useful tidbits about basically everything under the sun -- from astronomy to astrology, from farming practices to American history, from vocabulary to old-timey cooking tips (like cooking corn in a cooler. Who knew?!). The articles and tidbits are usually short enough that you can read one in just a few minutes, which makes it a perfect coffee table book. This version also does contain the storied weather forecasts for the coming year, too, broken down according to region, though it does say that it was "Fitted for Boston and the New England States with special corrections and calculations to answer for all the United States" (which was fine by me, since I am in New England).I will say that the Almanac is not very intuitively organized, but I actually think that's part of the fun of it -- digging around and opening to random pages and seeing what you find. If you're looking for a quirky little book of diversions, you can't go wrong with this old favorite.

Boo for continuous pages. It's not the Almanac's fault, though. I just don't like the way it's formatted in a running page type of format instead of page by page like the paper book. This makes it hard to see images on the smaller kindle, requiring some assistance from the PC version of Kindle for me.I'm still thrilled that the Almanac is available on Kindle and that I can carry it around with me wherever I go. As always, the Almanac has it's cute, annual articles and recipes along with it's world renowned winter forecasts. The forecasts are direct (and hopefully accurate this year) and covers all regions, not just the northeast (of course, the Alamanc is published in Boston and was created in the beginning with Boston in mind, why break the tradition?).Everybody should always own a copy of the Almanac and at this great Kindle price there is no reason for anybody not to splurge a five spot on it.

I bought the book and realized I was able to get just as much of the information I wanted on-line. I think for the person that was truly curious, it would be a very interesting and useful book. I find that the dates and predictions hold very close to true. For someone who is only curious when the first cool front will bring a relief to the hot dry summers it is not as in-depth ans I would have anticipated. I think however, it contains a wealth of information and for those who garden, like interesting facts and have the time to really read it through it would be a good investment!

A family favorite. A book that I would get my father every year at Christmas. Full of wonderful, useful information that can be used all year round. In-depth information on cycles of the Moon, gardening by the seasons, healing remedies and natural solutions. This is a yearly must have!

I love my Farmers Almanac. I have been looking forward to reading it every year for 40 years. And last year when I could buy it for my Kindle. Amazing. This year was just as great.The only complaint I have is unlike last year all the weather diagrams are really really small.And they will not enlarge. I can not read the rainfall diagram at all.They are about 1/4 the size of last years. Please fix that folks. I just started reading. So I do not know about the rest of it.But I will still enjoy my almanac.......but only 4 stars instead of 5.

I'm thinking I would get age-old wisdom from this almanac handed down from generation to generation. Instead, I got page after page of advertisements.Wow, first time reading this almanac and the internet has basically replaced this series.I "read" this on an airplane, noticed all the ads for older people, noticed I could have just wikipedia searched everything, then I left it on the plane because I thought carrying it around would be a hassle.
