This is such a well thought out bible and makes reading it so much easier for my husband.

When I was first drawn to salvation I wanted a Bible that I could understand, a translation that just got to the point. Growing up in the church my whole life I had missed Gods word because some folks think it's evil to deviate from certain translations. Years have passed and I still have my original NLT. I graduated from Liberty University with a degree in religion and have since used primarily the NASB or ESV for my deep bible studies. Keyword bibles and concordances, you name it I use in a regular basis. I love studying but I found myself wanting again just a bible I could read and not work at. I love deep bible study but sometimes you just want to sit down and read. I found myself reading the Bible less and less for me and only just when I had to put together a lesson or sermon and thus I finally can talk about this bible.I ordered this bible because I trust the nlt translation. I do not believe in one translation is all you need but sometimes I just want to sit down and enjoy reading Gods word just for fun, not for class or teaching or preaching. This bible gets it done! It has quickly become the go to Bible for my spiritual pick me ups and my personal walk. Quality construction and great notes and side stuff in the Bible along with a great easy to read and accurate translation. Perfect for every man. I still use my other bibles of course but this bible is like the crescent wrench in my spiritual tool box. Need more than one tool to get the job done but all around this bible can do a lot of things. You won't go wrong with this bible, I plan to by several more for my friends and family.Men, It is hard to lead your family, to stay the course no matter your spiritual or educational level. We need the proper tools to keep everything running. I promise this will not be a waste of money. If your like me you will naturally start to see an uprising of joy and desire to get in Gods Word.God Bless!

This is the best bible I have personally come across. I got it for my interest 3 and a half years ago - it was and still is his favorite. He gifted one to his brother and I got one for myself and am getting one for my parents this xmas.Even though I am a woman, many of the emphasized topics addressed for men I find interesting and helpful also. And honestly, a lot of the topics, as modern day women, relate to us just as much as men. The battle against work balance, sexual purity and desire, alcohol and so on. There are a few things designed specifically for men but for the most part i feel this bible is perfect for both genders.The biggest reason why I love this bible is because it is so easy to understand and packed full of nuggets of interesting, eye opening and informative information and wisdom. It breaks down the purpose of each book, the time lines, history and author with key concepts and phrases in the beginning of each book. It tells you the key point of each book and most verses are explained at the bottom of each page allowing you to better grasp the message and understand what the author is trying to convey. It is translated well and even explains how its translated and who translated it. Not to mention there are so many other awesome features in this bible - bible verse finder based on a particular topic (i.e - accountability, anger, decisions, desires etc etc), someone you should know index, 7 different maps including the ministry of Jesus - just to name a few!I never enjoyed reading the bible until now and its especially thanks to this bible. I highly recommend this bible - especially to men but to women also!

I bought this Bible for my boyfriend on his birthday, and he absolutely LOVES it. He's going to be a pastor, so he loves the study notes, devotions, and maps in the Bible. Before every book, there's an outline, background, and history section to give you a feel of what is going on. There's also several mini devotions in the beginning of the Bible, maps in the back, authors notes, study notes, and encouragements thrown in throughout the Bible. I was initially worried that it would be too heavy or thick like some study's bibles Ive used, but this one isn't all all. It's about the standard size of a Bible and the text is also pretty average. The cover is gorgeous- I love the stitching on it. Whenever I got my boyfriend's name engraved into it, it took very well to the cover of the Bible & looks great.Overall, we both loved the Bible! It was perfect in every way! I tried to answer all of the concerns that I had before I bought it. I hope this helps!:)

Tiny House Living is a treasure trove of information that strikes a healthy balance between imagination/creativity/go-get-‘em and practicality/day-to-day considerations. It is well-written and compiled with great care. I came to this book as a complete newbie and left wanting to join the bandwagon—that’s a lot to accomplish in 173 pages! There are eight chapters with concise, focused titles, such as “Why Choose Voluntary Simplicity?” and “The Path to Living Tiny,” covering just about any topic you could think of regarding a tiny house—from deciding if tiny home living is or isn’t for you, preplanning stages, and preparing to live in a tiny home through construction and living in the home. This is a book that will appeal to many demographics: those readying for retirement, those wanting to pare down their belongings into a more meaningful and streamlined life, those just starting out in life post-college, those dedicated to living green, those excited by alternative housing and/or repurposed construction, those anticipating a mid-life career or housing change, those interested in cutting expenses, and many others. I love the balance between basic information about zoning and laws, expenses, and reasons for building a tiny house alongside the wonderful interviews and full-color photographs of various people who constructed and/or live in the homes. Even if living in a small house is not for everyone, the organizational tips alone make this book well-worth a careful read; I began downsizing my clothes closet and donating items (a process I’d been putting off) while reading the author’s suggestions! I love the book’s focus on personal choice and personal change. I found myself sharing excerpts and tips from the text with family and friends. While there aren’t floor plans in this text—there are plenty of other books that focus solely on floor plans—I cannot think of a single thing this book is missing. The tone is informative and friendly, reminding me of taking a tour with a good friend through the homes. Those interviewed are honest about considerations and drawbacks as well as the great benefits they’ve experienced from living in tiny homes. The three-page appendix of tiny house blogs, builders, books, and websites is fantastically helpful and encouraged me to keep exploring this topic. Kudos, Ryan Mitchell! As a writer myself, I know how much love, passion for subject matter, and dedication goes into compiling such a beautiful book that invites readers back again and again. I’ll surely keep this one handy on my shelf and recommend it to friends.

Like so many tiny house books, this one is but a brief survey of a bunch of different people's projects. Some have good photos that inspire. Many don't have enough detail showing to be really useful. The text is largely fluff interviews rather than deep discussions about pros and cons or the decision making processes involved in the build. Disappointing overall... as have been most Tiny House books I've bought so far.

I live in a tiny house. Good book for the newly inquisitive but I was looking for more substantial info. For instance, I wanted more unique storage ideas that are abundant on Pinterest. I'm all for the "tiny house movement "; however, people have been living on boats for a long time and have storage tricks and tips that I would enjoy seeing crossover to their landlocked counterparts. We are seeing more and more smart innovations that make living tiny less of a sacrifice and more of a desirable change in living. Less can be more.

This is a great book. It is not just about building a tiny house, but includes a lot of information about the steps prior to a build, including information on code, where to park, etc. What I find most helpful though is information on downsizing, the psychology of it, the obstacles, the difficulties and the resulting freedom or problems. The profiles of tiny house people and builds are informative - and the pictures are vivid, clear and inspiring. One of the best tiny house books on the market - especially for those of us who are still puzzling out our options and dreams.

We've purchased many books about tiny houses in preparation for buying our first home, which will be a tiny house. This book is my second favorite. I loved the photos. It's amazing looking at the colorful variety these irreverent little beauties come in. I think there is more character and personality shown in every one of the tiny houses we've seen than in any traditional or loomingly-large house I've ever seen or been in. This book offers a look inside tiny houses, and discussion about the build and life inside a tiny house.

This is a great book. The book contains individual stories about how people got involved with tiny houses. For me, that helps me imagine how they might be useful for me. Whether I go into a tiny house or not, the ideas in this book - along with photos to actually SEE what they're talking about - can be used in any kind of house. I really liked some of the storage and space use ideas. I realized "tiny house" is a concept, and a way of looking at how one lives, more so than the number of square feet you have. This book will be a good resource for me over time, wherever I live.The reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is because of a minor detail. Some of the houses I liked didn't have enough information for me to further investigate the builders or their companies. However I recommend this book for anyone trying to decide if the tiny house concept holds anything useful for them.

Good book for learning about the process. I'm still looking for the book that really dives into the issues that come up. I've built 5 large houses, and I know there are plenty of issues with those. I suspect there are just as many trying to scale everything down. It would be nice to find one that talks more about plumbing, electrical, appliances, etc and really provides recommendations or how it can be done better.
